Just scored a 2015 double cab PreRunner with 56,000 miles, one owner, never been in an accident. Original owner brought this truck to the dealership religiously for every periodic service, five pages of maintenance records!
I really like this truck so far, cream puff.
First action will be to install a Bak MX4 and then.....

Thanks for the welcome. I ordered my Bak and will pick it up tomorrow in Houston.
First order of business after the top is installed is to remove the nasty clear chip guard around the doors and fenders.

Does anyone recognize this hardware? I found it hiding under my dash and it did not look anything like OEM so I yanked it out.

Do you have a lease on the vehicle? That's a dealer installed GPS tracker that transmits your location over the cellular networks back to the leinholder/etc.

Just a guess, but the switch with a phone icon leads me to guess a Bluetooth device added for a mobile phone.

Sure is a thing. There's a lot of 3rd gens posting about "WHAT IS THIS THING" without searching the FCC ID or knowing about the device. As for is it legal, that's up to your state/locality and the terms of the papers you sign when you bought the vehicle.

TIL! I don't think I'd be overly pleased to find one of these in my truck...

The truck was purchased in a pre owned condition and it was not leased at any time.
After checking the description on the module the it does indeed appear to be some type of tracking device.
All I know is that I don't want it in my truck.

Ok...where under the dash specifically? I've never looked around but I will now

The module was mounted just above the fuse panel. I found it because the switch with a blue led was mounted with velcro with the row of switches and it made me curious with the flashing blue led and all.

It looks very much like this GSM/GPRS tracker, look closely at the label on this one compared to yours:

Maybe it just records OBD2 Information for like auto insurance?
