TRD lift kit, Pro Grille, Bed lighting, Falken Wildpeak AT3, To be continued....

Mine were to high, took before and after measurements and adjusted accordingly. I now have the same beam picture at night that i had before. It worked out to be an adjustment of 1" that i lowered the headlights after the install. my 0.02

Yeah I got offered 2100 to get it installed. I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. I think I’m gonna get it

That 1” at a distance makes up a lot in either direction (depending on how far out you checked). Like I said earlier my rear raised 1-1.5” and I think I lost almost a ft of height at distance. I didn’t have time to adjust before my 6hr trip and that was a complete mistake- I could barely see shit

Yes, the whole grill must be removed to install a new grill insert. It takes no time at all though, the whole grill can be removed in several minutes with 2 screws and 2 tension inserts. Extra minute if you have TSS to unplug the sensor.

I have a 2016 trd sport. No camera in front. Do they sell it without the sensor?

Not necessary when using the factory coils. Taco lean happens when using aftermarket coils since they are the same length/spring rate. The OEM coils are side specific and compensate for the extra weight on the drivers side

has anyone installed this kit or portions of it DIY?.....i've seen that you can buy them online and i would really like to save some money by avoiding dealership.....plus i already have an aftermarket pro grill that works fine.... i'm looking to just get the shocks and blocks and do them myself....my buddy works in a shop that would assemble the shock / factory spring / top hat for me.... just wondering if anybody else has done this?.....seems you could save $1000 - 1500....

I tried to look into this but no one has pictures of this. Do you know if the letters blacked out or silver?

Black letters. Also comes with the hole for the front camera.

There’s a picture up above in your post #527 which you quoted.

Oh awesome. I didn't know if that was the exact one. Thanks.
Just called the dealership that was listed on this thread somewhere and they verified it was the blacked out one. However, a parts guy mentioned that during checkout, I would have to input a TRD PRO VIN somewhere before being able to purchase it or else I couldn't get it. He told me to go to my local dealership and find a TRD PRO with this exact Grille and get the VIN. He also told me that toyota will not allow anyone to buy the grille unless it came from the factory with it. Just a heads up to everyone. Guess I'm going VIN hunting this weekend or next.

I have searched this thread, but haven't come across this, or maybe I missed it (sorry).....

Some have mentioned you need to buy the whole kit, but is it necessary to change out the grill for the one in the kit? Or can I keep my stock grill and camera and just lift the truck? Maybe it would still require recalibration?

    Thank in advance!

He is mistaken. You don’t need a Pro VIN for this part. The part number for this grille is PT228-35200-20. They will ask you for a VIN, however it doesn’t need to be that of a Pro. My 2021 SR5 VIN passed the check and my part is in the mail right now.
There are other Pro Grilles that do require Pro VINs because they only come on Pro’s from the factory.

One such part number is PT228-35180, which is the pro grille from 2018-2019 that does not come with a camera hole. There’s also PT228-35170 which comes with an insert that fills the hole where the TSS garnish goes.

Long story short, if you try to buy PT228-35170 or PT228-35180, they will ask you for a Pro VIN. The grille from this lift kit did not come on a Pro, therefore they should accept any VIN that is compatible with the full lift kit.
