Oh there will be some mods all right
If you are interested in foam cell technology there is a decent amount of people on here running iron Man 4x4 foam cells. I also ran the foam cells on my Nissan frontier and was happy with them.

As Larry said, there's a growing acceptance of Foamcells that's occured just in the last year or so. I've literally watched this forum go from not wanting to touch them with a ten foot pole... To a whole threads worth of adopters over from Ironman.

The Ironmans were more lift than I was wanting, even if they were a good deal. I was looking more for ride comfort and adjustability and I found it with the Tough Dogs. The kit could likely be even better if Tough Dog could put one on a truck and dial it in, but I'm happy. I got the lift, performance and price I wanted.

I have been running Tough Dog on the front of my 14 Trdor dc for about 8 months now. They are the HH springs with a US Offroad winch mount ,Warn 10k with synthetic and TRD Pro skid. I’ve gained a round 2.5 inches of lift. Also running JBA UCA’s and wheelers superbumps, the ride is fantastic. Vast improvement over the Fox 2.0 coil overs I had. Holds the weight well and the adjusters definitely work in all conditions from street driving to big whoops and hundreds of miles of North Maine Woods chasing grouse.

Nice! I'm glad to hear you ended up getting them!

I wasn't even aware that they had different coil options to offer different heights, but that shouldn't surprise me since that's par for the course with most Aussie brands. (Actually I was aware, once, a looong time ago in a year called 2020) Have you thought about pairing them in the rear as well? I know I had to get a lot of measurements together for TD to ensure they'd work for the Tacoma since they'd never made one before.

I didn't get the rears because I had installed remote res Fox with adjusters about 6 months prior to ordering. If i hadn't i would have definitely gone with TD. The rears are paired to Iron Man 0-600 leaf packs that are working very well for me. My setup is fantastic fully loaded and empty. I wish the UCA's from TD worked on our trucks. BTW Jason was great to deal with.

I believe the UCA's from TD should work, or have you heard/found out otherwise?

I had originally ordered them but Jason said that there was a fitment problem when they arrived so he didn’t send them out. Not sure what the problem was but they weren’t going to work on a 2nd gen.

Did they mention what the rear spring rate limits are?
Mainly interested what the lightest rear leaf spring recommendation is.

Also, did they mention. That you have to be lifted X amount if inches or else they'd bottom out(rear).

That would be a question for @TRAIL TAILOR. Hopefully he pops by and answers

But to answer your question directly, I was never told anything in regards to limits on springs in either direction.

Understood. I probably wouldn't design a shock that'd be too harsh for the lowest spring rate Tacoma but allow enough compression and rebound control for the overlanders.
