Contractor Cap T latch lock Question

    Hi, potentially stupid question, but I couldn't find anything about this on the search. I have a contractor's cap with latches like this

    that don't have any lock in them. I've seen full lock replacements with a new latch, but there is also a cylinder kit like this

    this is a lot cheaper, especially considering I need 3 of them. Does anyone know if it is possible to simply drill into the existing latch and add in this cylinder? Has anyone done this?

    considering this image it looks like you'd just have to drill the one hole and add that piece in. But I'm not super experienced with this and maybe its a dumb idea and I should just get a full on replacement lock.
