    Hey all.

I am removing the subwoofer and whatever else is back along the rear wall of my double cab, behind the seats.

Is it as simple as detaching the sub (and I assume the amp? Is that attached to the sub back there)?
Do I need to cap any wires?

Will the front door speakers work with all that stuff in the rear removed?

    Thanks for the diagram.

Is the amplifier actually back there with the speaker?
Any guides on routing wiring up front for an under seat amp/sub install?

There is an audio sub forum, you may want to post in it also.

My truck did not have the JBL system, but I bought all new speakers and an amp now located under the drivers seat and ran new speaker wires into each door. But I also wanted to sound deaden the truck and door cavities and had the entire interior out of my truck for a week.

So YES, it can be done, decide if you are going to keep the OEM factory head unit or go aftermarket then concept build from there

I disconnected the JBL sub in my 09 and didn't lose any speaker output - factory everything else.

Not simple but doable. Why relocate it? You would need to gut the interior to relocate the harness or assemble a harness extension.
    What year truck?

I’ve removed the rear seats in preparation for a goose gear install. I’m going to remove the sub so I can get the version that goes all the way to the rear wall of the cab.

I’m also open to adding MLV/noico before the goose gear install.
my concern about an under seat amp/sub install is water and mud getting under there

Well the harness to the amp runs along/under the door sills on the passenger side. The length of the harness after being removed might make it across the front passenger side to the driver's side, following the under seat harness.
I don't how much you could lift the amp without loosing seat adjustment/movement.

Personally, yank the whole amp and sub and just go aftermarket after the goose gear install. You can find some slim aftermarket amp and sub that will easily outperform the OEM JBL system along with an easier install.

Forty, I’m strongly considering doing this same thing...or a version there of. I’m curious about the total dimensionality of the platform above the platform (from front edge to back bulkhead or cab). Any chance you can share? Also, I’m considering deleting the sub and plastic for the same reasons. Please post follow-up to let us know how it goes?
