I’ve never bothered. Just proper torque 85 ft lb and recheck after 100 miles (to be honest I don’t even do that).

Added some longer studs for @Greg.Brakes.Tacos today. He wanted to add a bumper brace but there isn’t enough thread engagement because of the thickness of it. M10x1.25 50mm long. Just use a cutoff wheel to cut off the back with precision and gently work it out with a hammer being careful not to bend the surrounding sheet metal.

Pull the bolts through and use a nut to hold it in place. Throw a little weld on the back and voila.

Ordered some straps for the rear platform today. I didn’t want to mess with excessively long ratchet straps so I set out on the hunt for some cambuckle straps with hooks. I wasn’t impressed with anything I saw on Amazon so I went with some good ol made in America straps. It’s from the same company that made the Y strap that used to secure my spare. I ordered 3 of them in red with the keeper option on the hook.

Here’s a wildly informational video about different ways to use a snatch block. I recommend everyone who has a winch watch this.

    Super productive day today.

    1. opened tent to double check that its good before this weekend.
    2. Torqued beadlock bolts
    3. Trimmed another inch off my front fenders.
    4. Modified my switch wiring to allow independent front locker usage.
    5. Added quick disconnect to my chase light.
    6. Switched my center four lenses from flood to spot and aimed them better.

No, I never bother with edge trim. No reason in particular, I just prefer the look without it and I never go out of my way to buy it. If I had it on hand I might use it.

My spidertrax came with some red stuff in a tube for the OEM threads. I applied liberally to them and torque to recommended spec.

YUP. Especially the front ones. I imagine it’s from them being the turning tires. I also assume that as I drive more and check torque more, they’ll require less and less tightening. I don’t think they’re loosening up but just settling in as the bead squishes.

If you haven’t yet, the way to do it is remove the core from the valve stem and jack up the truck so no weight is on the tire. Then check torque in criss cross as normal.
