Led tail lights

you can send a support ticket to @MESO and get a resistor for the hyperflash issue. Mine has it as well but living in AZ, i'll probably never need to reverse and have a turn signal on at the same time, so no worries for me. I would also offer up to him what happened with your harness.

Heard back from Tacomabeast this morning. Meso is sending me a replacement harness. Resister kit needed for hyper flash. I'll order that today and both should be waiting for me when I vet back from my road trip.

Just installed the kit a couple minutes ago.
Anyone notice the reverse/turn bulb provided only has 2 retaining tabs, but the housing (and the stock bulb holder) has 4 tab openings?

Tried turning to lock it in and it kept turning and turning. Guess I'll give it a dab of Permatex to seal it in place.

Is this a recent design change or a known issue?

I didn't notice that Monday when I installed them. They slipped right in and worked fine. I won't be taking them apart until I'm back home and installing the resisters for the hyperflash issue. I'll try to remember to take a look then.

Did yours fit?

 

They fit, but because they're two different connect types, they don't lock into place. You can push the bulb into the housing, and give it an 1/8 turn, and it'll hold. But if you give it a full 1/4 turn, it'll pop back out again.

 

The picture on the Meso site looks like the lights have the 4 tabs (yellow highlight).


But the ones I received from Tacoma Beast just had 2 tabs 180* from each other.

 

What piece of the harness are you referring to? Mine went in fine, all connections, to their correct bulb housing.

Or are you referring to plugging in the @MESO harness to the OEM harness?

The two LED assemblies for reverse/turn. They plug into the harness correctly (plug in and screw down the retainer), but when you try to install the bulbs into the taillight housing (usually just push it in and give it a 1/4 turn to lock), there are only 2 tabs on the bulbs themselves, but 4 tab openings in the taillight housing.

The LED assemblies came in separate "VLEDS" bags with the label:

I looked to see if I had a pic of the bulbs and harness but I don’t. Everything fit and lined up perfectly when I installed mine. I’m not sure if there have been any recent changes though. It’s been one of my favorite mods so far, so I hope you are able to get everything sorted out.

 

This and the locking tailgate are my favorite mods so far.

You are correct the new led bulb only has 2 locking tabs. The stock hole has 4. It will lock in just make sure not to over tighten it.

 

Then add 4x triton extremes to that
