What kind of life have you guys gotten out of your Redline hood struts? I got mine in October of 2019 and they're already starting to go. They'll hold the hood up, but won't lift on their own. Has anyone else had issues?

Similar experience. They worked well for a couple years. Now I have to lift the hood all the way up (or they go very slowly). Still better than the prop rod though so I haven't messed with them.

I would contact them. They have a 4 year warranty. I've also noticed on mine that their lifting performance decreases in cold weather. They have always held the hoods open but don't have the self lifting that they have in warmer weather.

That’s normal for lifting struts as they age.

I would expect a decrease in performance eventually, but 1 year just seems a bit soon. Sounds like maybe the strut they chose is a bit too weak for the weight of the hood.

Thanks for your input, I'll be contacting them about a warranty claim.
