I'll mount it like the cobra 75xt all in one. Main box hidden in center console, just the mic out. Easy peasy.

 

i think I’ll go with that one too, what antenna you getting? How are you going to mount it?

 

I'm probably going to get the MXT115. From what I can tell, it's basically the same radio as the MXT275 but doesn't have all the controls and such in the mic. I tend to throw the mic around on the console so I feel this is a better option for me. They are both the same price at $150.

The MXT115 comes with a smaller, 3db gain antenna but there is an optional 6db gain antenna you can get separately.

For mounting the antenna, you can do most of them as a magnetic mount or figure out some other way to hard mount.

There is also a mount that can attach to the edge of you hood and you can mount whatever antenna you want there.

@xtremewlr Yup. I also got the hood mount and 6db antenna. The way my roof rack is, I can attach it to it. Get it up high.

 

maybe I’ll get another antennae mount for the rear on the other side

I managed to submit my registration but it wont let me pay, says I dont need to. When do they do the processing? My application just says “waiting for review.”

 

Looks like Midland has a 40 watt version... is that overkill for us?
