Buy one of those small plastic single step stools attach a small rope so you can lift it in the truck after you get seated, and just leave it on the drivers seat when you are not in the truck.Easy too just put it on the passenger seat when you are driving.

OP, thanks for triggering a funny, light hearted discussion! I especially like the pogo stick idea. :)

Two things that might help. Take a look at Running Board Warehouse. They have a ton of options. My recommendation for you is to look at one that rides a little lower (making the first step easier to reach) and is a little wider (giving you a solid footing as you spring into the cabin). I personally like the Ionic ones but there are a ton of solid, affordable and easy to install options to choose from:

    https://runningboardwarehouse.com

For the bed, a lot of people install the bed step -- which can retract when not in use. Flips down. Really easy to install. Convenient. I am looking into this just because my knees and back are, well, are not what they used to be:

Note: There are lots of bed steps out there that have better prices, just sending that link so you can see what it is.

Finally, think about putting one of these around your headrest. As you get on the step and into the truck it might help to have something you can grab on to:

(Again, link for the idea, not necessarily the price)

Let us know how it works out for you and what you decide !

I got one and am perfectly satisfied with it. You may luck out. Consider it like buying a lottery ticket.

I have one (was one of the original orders) that was a giant pain to actually get my hands on, then required a little more tweaking than I’d expect for anything advertised as in the ballpark of OEM. That being said, I’m a short guy and like the grab handle for getting in- something about the high floor or seating position of the Tacoma makes getting in and out a little different than my previous frontier or wrangler (and I believe both had some sort of handles) that were at least as high.

I echo the recommendation of reading through the linked thread- they’re in production so you aren’t sinking money for a year like those of us in the actual preorder, so weigh the thread and it may be an option for you.

My wife is 5’1 and she had a easier time with these too. I like how the steps are, less chance of slipping when there is snow out too.

You can also get sill guards. They are stick on and OEM from Toyota. I did that early. Grab the wheel and step on the sill if required. If you are more vertically challenged, steps are the best approach. I did that on my Dodge Ram 2500 which naturally has a very high step in from the factory.
