CH4x4 small button order page says it only fits up to 2014, is that just webmasters not updating the text?

This? From everything I have read, there are only two Toyota sizes, tall and small and any small is the same as any other small. I would consider this section to be out of date by 7 years. Might be nice to point that out to them, they likely don't notice.

AFAIK, tall is 39 x 21mm and small is 34 x 23mm. If you have a decent micrometer or even a ruler you can likely measure the size of your blank to confirm.

Well, so much for that. The CH4x4 shipping to WA is ridiculous, it does not cost that much to stuff a small button in an envelope and stick it in the mail. Gonna have to figure out a different option:
    Code:
    Subtotal $19.98
    Coupon: special20 -$4.00
    Shipping
    [LIST]
[*] USPS First Class International: $17.95
[*] USPS Priority Mail International: $65.56
[*] USPS Mail Express International: $82.48
    [/LIST]
    Tax $0.00
    Total $33.93

    UPDATE:
AirOnBoard is much better, and total is less than CH4x4 with coupon code:
    Code:
    Subtotal $19.98
    Shipping (USPS Standard Shipping) $5.65
    Order Total Incl. Tax $25.63

That doesn't look right. It's showing international shipping. Their checkout is a bit weird. Make sure you selected USA.

Any switch will work if you don't mind it not being labeled correctly. The cheap Amazon switches are just that, cheap. They don't fit as well, the wiring can be iffy, and don't feel as nice when you click them.
Why spend $120 on a wiring harness and try to save $10 on a switch.

Well, it made them lose a sale (which, of course, won't cause them to go bankrupt...) A perfect example of retailers needing to spend time/money on getting their customer interface as good as possible since they don't know how many folks did exactly what I did.

I finally installed my kit yesterday after receiving it back in January (was waiting for nicer weather), and Wow what a savior for reversing in a manual!
I spent the day moving my garage stuff from my old garage to my new one, and the old garage has a steep and very narrow driveway which always required lots of clutch finessing to back up. With 2wd-lo I could just drop the clutch and creep back comfortably.
The kit made installation very smooth and easy. Took about an hour, deliberately taking my time to double check each step of the way.

Harness showed up today! Think I should be able to get it installed in the next day or two.

Got my harness delivered today and I just couldn’t wait for my switch to install it. To anyone apprehensive about the install just take your time and use the threads mentioned here for pics and info. I recommend using a cardboard box sitting over the shifter to hold the head unit so you can reach down in the dash. Since my switch won’t be here until this weekend I have to ride around like a schmuck with the plug hanging out of the dash7289F7B4-2E9F-47DA-9F0A-69EC36B7BEDC.jpg

Don't even need to pull head unit, just pop the blank spot out and pull the wire through with flexible wire.

Good luck with that. I found it was quicker and easier to pull the head unit than to try and fish a wire through there.

Maybe you have the magic touch. I feel like mine was a bit crowded back there.

I've done a fair bit of wiring with my head unit intact but popping out the climate controls. The connectors are a mild pain but with them out I can fish my hand into the lower switch panel and also feed into the under-cupholder locations.

Also possible to remove the bumper without removing the glove box but for this specific mod you have to pull the glove which means pulling the airbag.

This... You need to pop the top corner of the dash panel on the left below your key, but the HVAC controls come out easily and unplug. You then have easy access to the area behnind the switches.
