Best non-stubby antenna for reception

I’ve read a lot of posts about stubby antennas, but I’m just trying to figure out what’s the best antenna overall for reception. Broke my last one off going through some trees in the woods.

I spend a lot of time in rural areas where there isn’t great reception. I know I broke off the OEM, but I don’t care about whether the antenna is stubby or not. Sounds like some of the aftermarkets are a lot more flexible but might have a slight decrease in reception.

 

I purchased this one, it's 31 " I live in fringe works great, size is a compromise want to be in the middle of the band, freq/wave length longer for low freg (89mhz fm), shorter for hi freq(104 mhz fm)
