Test drove a 15’ 5 speed this evening. Noticed clutch pedal was a coupe inches out more than the brake pedal. So it wasn’t parallel with brake pedal. Is this normal? Made for a lot of knee bend to push in pedal l. Been a decade since driven a 2nd gen 2.7 5 speed. Clutch pedal also had a little play in it and seemed a little heavy. Thanks

I haven't driven a manual in quite some time so I may not be much help but I do recall my last car having the clutch pedal stick out the most then the brake pedal and closest in was the gas pedal.

It sort of shifted to one side for the first inch or 2 of travel before starting to actually disengage, that combined with a heavy clutch feel something didn’t seem right. But truck only has 24k miles so I’m assuming original clutch but who knows

I wouldn't trust that. I'd ask about it and see if they'd be willing to fix it that if you are interested in purchasing it. I've driven friends car's whenever they're drunk etc. But the pedal doesn't feel like it shimmies left or right

Unfortunately I can’t find another example to drive for comparison, a Tacoma with a 3rd pedal is a rare find where I live

My clutch shifts slightly left when first applying foot pressure

Ok sounds like a little play to other side is normal. I was just a little surprised at that clutch travel length and weight of it- almost felt like pushing in a spring. My last manual was 2.4 accord so obviously night and day vs the Tacoma. thanks for the info

Mine does this too it has about an 1/2 inch of play from where the pedal sits to where it starts to grab (to the left a bit) Is there a fix?

My previous manual was also an accord. There are no similarities what’s so ever with the clutch and gear box. Total night and day comparison. Which really is to be expected.

Well you are pushing in a spring actually a bunch of them. Clutch return spring and the pressure plate Springs.

I know but with hydraulic assist right? I just don’t remember my ‘97 and ‘02 having that heavy of clutch feel and long travel- but then again it’s been a while. Thanks for the replies.

I know there have been issues with the clutch pedal bushing getting broken. I "think" they did a service campaign on them, but I'm not sure.

I think this pedal can also be adjusted somewhat. I'll see if I can find the information.

    Here it is:

Thanks I decided not to get the truck. Gina go with a 2wd frontier with a 5 speed (also super hard to find now). clutch travel is much shorter and feels lighter. Throws are also a hair shorter. I kinda think that truck had an aftermarket clutch installled for towing
