    Hi All,
    Thanks in advance. I have a 6 speed 07 Tacoma with 240k.

When I accelerate from a stop, 8 out of 10 times there is a single loud click that comes from the rear driver side. It sometimes happens when I release the clutch from a low speed in 2nd or 3rd.

Almost sounds like an over tightened bolt. I had my leafs replaced per re-call and the dealership didn’t tighten the bolts to spec (terrible mistake) and 2 of the 8 bolts fell out. All 6 remaining were finger tight. Luckily I heard the rattling and pulled over and tightened the 6 and limped it in to get an extra 2.

I know have them all tightened to 75 ftlbs.

wondering if it could be related?

many info would be a great help. I don’t think it’s anything serious just annoying!!

You have an issue in or at the leaf pack.

Either the centering pin is broken or your u-bolts are loose, or something. You need to get in there and check those things out first.

    Thanks

The U-bolts are all tightened down to 75lbs and it seams like the centering pin is in because the leaf pack is sitting flush against the axle. (I assume it would raise the pack if it weren’t in)

Is there a way I can check if the centering pin is broken without removing the leaf pack?

I should get new centering pins then first? From what I understand from removing the centering pin I will need to replace it with a new one?

or can I just put it back in? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    FIXED!!

I realized there was play in my U-joints and center support bearing. I replaced all u-joints and noticed the center u-joint was shot.

after replacing all, No more click!

the noise was coming from a dried out and seized center U-joint.
