71TattooGuy: crazy thing is how affordable this set up is. Rear is about $550 front ran $850 install was $400. Winch is closer to $1,500 but I got it for much less. It’s all steel so it’s heavy but not to crazy.

I think those are very good looking. My question, why does everyone trim their front, just not enough to make a straight line for there new bumper? You always see that notch.

DR TACO: yeah idk why they can’t make the bumper go up another inch so it’s a straight line. This is just how they want it cut for most front bumpers. But I definitely see your point. It would look better if it was designed to be cut an inch higher.

Is it a full inch, it appears to be an 1/4 inch?

DR TACO: it’s probably 1/4 inch. I was exaggerating a little but yeah it would look better if it was cut a little higher. I do crazy stuff anyways so it’ll be scratched up in a few weeks anyways.

Hey, it’s cool, just seen this a bunch, and wondered if there was a structural reason for it. I’m a little OCD, and would rather see an uniform cut across the front. It’d look cleaner to me. Anyways, looks great, nice bumper!
    Cheers.

Think you could post a couple more pics of the front bumper too? I’ve been looking at these as well, thanks!

    I can answer that...
For flex. The new bumper is mounted directly to the frame and the frame and body can move at different rates when going hard off road The gap is there so you don't crack your grille. That is also the reason there is a gap between your bed and cab. ;)

Now, your next question is gonna be "why is there no gap on the stock bumper?" Because the stock bumper has a soft rubber cover over the real bumper and the engineers designed it in a way they could move independent of each other. What you see is the difference between Toyota engineers and a guy who welds up steel plate in a shop.

Hi, I was running TJM’s 2.0 mono tube suspension, but I have since upgraded to fox 2.5’s with 650 pound coils. Much nicer!
