I've searched and have not been able to find a conclusive answer to whether it's at all advisable to put 3rd gen 6112s on my 2nd gen - they're constantly on backorder for 2nd gens but I have been able to locate some in stock locally for 3rd gens, so that is where my question is coming from. I really don't want to wait a few months for them to come back in stock.
The only difference I can figure is the location of the grooves for the spring perches, and possibly some slight valving differences due to a slight increase in weight of the 3rd gen.
I understand that stock 3rd gen front shocks/coils give a 1" lift for 2nd gens - would this mean that I could install the 3rd gen 6112s with the perch set at 1" lift for a 3rd gen and actually get 2" (ish) on my 2nd gen?
Hoping that someone who has tried this, or knows someone who has tried this, can chime in.
