Did my good deed for the this morning, while dropping off my youngest at daycare.

Lady was dropping off her daughter, who is in the same room as mine. I walk by and hear her trying to start her van, but all you hear is the clack clack clack, trying to fire up. Battery was dead. I don't have a set of jumper cables (I know, stupid me), so I asked some people who were dropping off their kids if they had one. Unfortunately no one did.

Luckily there is an Autozone literally one minute up the road. Ran up there, bought myself a set of cables so I could keep in the truck, and helped her out.

 

Good boy points there (bonus if she was cute haha)

Luckily you added 30 by driving to buy something and returning to fix a stranded mothers issues...still up 20 by my math.

How do they make determination on which run group you are in?
Do they enforce point by?

 

No, and not sure how the grouping is determined. I sure hope they would enforce point-bys. Don’t see why they wouldn’t.

To further elaborate on my good deed today.

So youngest comes home from daycare after the Mrs picks her up.

Kiddo comes storming into the house saying that she has something for me, from her friend's mom.

It was a card saying thank you, along with a $25 gift card to DD.

Dang! I didn't do it to get anything from it. I did it because she needed help, and I couldn't walk away knowing that she needed help, and chances were she'd be stranded there for a while.

Gave the gift card to the Mrs because I don't really go to DD, and she does.

 

Very cool @Cativelense and a nice gesture on the way back too.

This. I have had one for like 4 years and jumped everything I own and multiple others cars with it. Love them.

Biggest bonus is it removes the need for OTHER people. Can handle any jump with 1 person and no extra cars to power you. My polaris ranger used to die in the middle of the woods, without this I'd still have it out in themiddle of the woods!

 

I've used it twice on others cars (had it for a year). It's perfect if you can't get your vehicles battery close the dead battery, or to jump yourself. I bought the optional case for it:

It's a pic from a couple of years ago, when I went to go see the soccer team I like from Portugal play at Yankee Stadium, since they came over to play in a friendly game against Liverpool from England. Good day for sure!

I've also got something similar. Nice bonus is ability to charge phones in a power outage.

 

Bought a Cricut joy and spent my whole weekend making inappropriate stickers, and yes I’m too old for that but it’s so much fun!

 

Starting the warm up trend today. Already not half bad outside.

Scheduled an appt with the dealership to drain and fill the transmission, and do my frame inspection. Its about time at 124k. Figured the transmission service might be a pretty penny compared to diy or bringing it to a local shop, but I am anticipating putting on a decent number of miles this year and having them do it will give me some additional peace of mind.

U bolt flip kit should arrive today. Just need to grab a decent set of 6 ton jack stands and a warm day to put those and the additional leaf back in the rear packs.

 

I have a larger Sears box..not something I can keep in the truck but that access to power for phones or small stuff camping is awesome.

Bah never too old.
