Mines a little cheese gratery too. Just paint it black. Cheaper than a new grille and looks good (I think)

Personally, I think the TRD Pro grilles are way over used. I have the cheese grater as well. I would love the current TRD OR grille. Plus, if you are worried about the TSS sensor, you should be able to remove it (in theory) and replace the emblem with the one from the cheese grater and black it out if you wanted to go that route.

Great looking truck sir. Love the black-out on inferno. Best application of cheese grater grille and stock OR rims I think I’ve seen.

I vote SR grille as well :) The "old" (16-19, though you have TSS so you want a 19. Maybe 18?) or the new 20+ style. Either way, I like the subtlety of them. Not many people repping the peasant class :)

Looks great! I have seen a lot of painted OG cheese greater grilles and they look fantastic. IMO better than the PRO grille, I guess it’s just too played out. 8 out of 10 tacos here are rocking the pro grille with raptor lights... even when everything else is bone stock.

I think the 2020+ SR grille is the best looking 3rd gen taco grille. Too bad they want like $450 for it here...

Embrace your grill. What ever the stock grill is for your year and trim....embrace it. Rock it. Be proud of it. You have a 2016! Display it proudly.

I like the Pro grille because it helps prevent that Bubba Gump underbite going on without the pro grille bump.

That actually doesn’t look half bad. Have one sitting around might just paint it and get rid of the pro grille. What kind of paint did you use?

I still love the pro grilles. But the painted grille is different and I like that. As you can see I wasn't so original with the wheels (plastidipped and pro center caps)

I painted the ugly chrome bezel on my 18 grille and love how it looks. I also applied smoked PPF on the Toyota logo. Like you said, definitely different from 99% of tacos here.

Yep this is exactly the one I did. Plus I wanted real metal and not stupid plastic that will crack if anything bigger than a bug hits it at speed.

And because the new grill still allows little things through I also added this honeycomb radiator protector: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Nome...Guard-Protector-Screen-Mesh-19-x-26,3545.html (the image below was before adding the red honeycomb sheets. Now all you can see is a red color behind the grill.)

Plasti-dipped is a great option. You can always buy something different later if you don't like it.IMAG4389.jpg

Happy with my stock grille. Thought I wanted the heritage one but meh….options available if I change my mind.

That looks good! I gotta show this pic to my dad who has the same grille as you. Maybe it'll sway him to paint it instead of buying a new one.
