Hi ..I am looking to put a rough country 2" leveling kit in my 2018 tacoma. Do I need to run differential drop spacers with this kit? Rough country and the shop installing it say no but I am skeptical. I am just running the leveling kit to fit 265x70x16s instead of 245s. Is this going to wear my cv out without the spacers?

If you don't plan on off-roading leveling kits are fine. If you do...it's gonna be a rough ride

I love this type of thinking. how can the ride be any rougher than stock, when the spacer lift doesnt add any spring pressure/preload, and you are running stock springs? they are the same shocks, same springs. the ride will be the same.

now, are there better options for offraoding set ups? sure. but, telling someone it is going to be rougher by adding spacers only, is not accurate. Ski

Scroll down to the 2nd and 3rd post. Should tell you enough about why you don't want to use them in offroad applications:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/spacer-lifts-how-bad-are-they-really.543584/

They'll cause you to bottom out faster and overextend the shocks when you do something like wheeling. This wears down the components faster and eventually can cause full failure

Same here, rides just like stock. I've put them on every single truck(13) for the last 20some yrs. never an issue. I don't off-road, if I did, I'd get a setup meant for that. I'd bet money that many here that spend thousands on suspension setups don't need anything close to that.

Exactly, which was the point of my original post. If you never off road a block/spacer lift is totally fine. Still might wear out your CV joints a little quicker and you might want new UCA's, but for the most part it's okay. But any heavy wheeling on a setup like that and you will see components fail much quicker because you are pushing them into spaces/angles that they weren't designed for.

I am going to pickup a set of bilstein 6112's. Is there anything else additionally I should be getting? Would I be ok with stock UCA's? I will be leaving the tire size stock. I am just looking to correct the factory rake, and upgrade the ride a little bit.
