Hello. Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I was looking to at a 3 in suspension lift to my automatic 2.7liter 2004 pre runner along with 33 in tires. I know that it is a bad idea, so here is my new question. Can I add 285/ 16 or 17,s with no lift. The guy at 4 wheels parts said yes, but I don’t know if I can trust him, he was ready for me to pay before I even looked at wheels. I don’t want to add any performance enhancer like air filters etc, just some wheels and tires.Any help? Some may say dump it and get a 4*4 V6, I intended to, but my dad just died of covid and this was his truck, so it is sentimental to me. Thank you.

    Hi Eric
    Welcome to TacomaWorld
265/70r16 work flawlessly on stock rims. You have to match rim offsets to get the same results with custom rims.
285 will rub under full compression on 16"+17" rims.
Do not lift over 2.5" if it's to be a daily driver.
    Sorry for your loss
