The nerf steps on my truck have multiple areas where the finish is flaking off and after this winter the rust is definitely setting in. Instead of buying new ones, I thought I might try and refinish them instead. Any advice or tips on how to go about that process or what I should use would be greatly appreciated. Maybe rustoleum bedliner would be a good option?

I'm about to bedline mine so that gets my vote.

Spray paint would be easier to touch up, if this happens quite a bit.
Sand paper or wire wheel, primer if you wish, then spray away. Repeat as necessary.

Yeah paint would probably be easier to maintain but bedliner would be tougher so I'm not sure which route to go with. I appreciate the input!

If they don’t get banged up too often, bedliner would work.
