    Hi Tacoma Family,

This is my first truck in a long time. I'm excited to turn my 2015 TRD sport into an Arizona overlander. I want this truck to be prepared for both the mountains and the highway, that way we can escape the desert this summer and head north to explore on the weekends. So far the only mod that was made when we got it were the addition of the aggressive tires.

One of the next upgrades will be to add my Yakama rack to the cab. My plan is to use my old skyline towers and round bars. That way I can use all the other Yakima accessories I have. Mostly I want to be able to haul two kayaks up there. We went to the lake two weeks back and we strapped the kayaks to the camper. On the way back it was really windy so I was hesitant to drive too fast, but every this held up fine. I haven't been able to find the the landing pads (#24) that I need for the rack anywhere. They are on back order so I think I'll be hauling the kayaks in the back after the camper is sold.

We got this truck a few weeks ago and have taken it on one local trail so far. After we got through the main part of the trail and were on the ranch roads I was so happy to have made it through unscathed and that the truck did so well. I tried out both 4 high and 4 low even though we probably didn't need 4 low. We didn't air down for this trail and then when I looked back to see the difficulty rating it was rated moderate. Next time I want to be prepared to air down and air up. There are a lot of things that I want and need get back on the trail safely so I have had to try and make a prioritized list. Deflators and a pump are towards the top of the list but other things like floor mats and seat covers have been the only things that I have purchased so far. Once I sell the camper I wont feel bad about getting the truck a few necessities. I think I'll add my list here on my next post so people can comment on what items are the most important.

After the camper is sold (hopefully this weekend), my plan is to replace it with low profile Billiebars and a tonneau cover. Then we can add a rtt over the bed. The idea is to keep the rtt as low as possible to keep the wind resistance down. We have the rtt, it is a Tepui Baja series ultralight Kukenam 3. That is a lot. Well its a 3 person tent that is made for hotter climates. We haven't used it yet or even mounted it. So, I'm excited to get the next part of the build going to say the least.
