    Oof, I feel your pain there. If our power blinks it's not good at all where I work. We have a giant back-up generator but whenever the building is running full tilt and just shuts down like that it tends to kill some VFD's and boards/switches in the camera tunnel system...

    Yep, freq drives, automated controls for air handling equipment don't like blips in power. Years past we would shed load before bringing power back on line but we are so understaffed these days we don't do it that way anymore. Hard on equipment and one of these times someone is going to get hurt. Sad what this university has evolved into.

    Back before Christmas season we had one line side (two 480v sources) of the switchgear blow up so it had to be disconnected and the tie-breaker closed. The entire building's been running on one side the entire busy season. o_O Best part is the transformer for the "good" side is slowly leaking. Been a ticking time-bomb. They're finally replacing all that this Sunday; I was asked if I wanted to come in for OT to help with the process. I politely told them "yea have fun with that" apparently was the wrong answer, but... :rofl:
