They aren’t letting the scouts cook for each other like normal. But things keep changing regularly so hopefully this won’t last long and we will be back to the regular procedures before summer is over.

My front wheels had a vibration for a while now and I just assumed it was because I had to rotate tires. Rotated tires and spun my driver front wheel and sounds like a ratchet going around both ways right now. Cv seems loose on the inside at the diff and slowly leaking oil so I pulled it apart but the cv looks perfect on the inside and I tried putting it back in and got the same ratchet problem. The inside cv joint kinda jumps up and down as it goes around.

Pulled the cv again and stuck my finger into the splined part of the diff and turned it around and that seems to be where the ratchet is coming from but it is hard to tell. Any ideas what might be up???

noise/movement seems to come form right here

I’m taking a break for this rain because I wasn’t smart enough to pull my truck into the garage before disassembly. I’m going to try and upload a video of what it sounds/looks like if I can figure it out

The vibration stops in 4x4 from what I remember. It vibrates usually going from 10-25ish mph but I figure it just stops after that because it gets too fast to tell.

Appears to be needle bearing which means I need a ecgs bushing from what I have seen. Sound right to anyone who has had issues with the needle bearing?

When you stuck your finger, did you hear any noise?

I’m sick of ISP and their profiling tactics.

I just tried it again and I can hear pretty much the same noise but much more faint when spinning the splines in there with my finger. I tried to spin the needle bearing which I think is just outside of the splines but it is too slick for me to spin it at all. I got a video but you can’t hear shit over the rain.

Pictures of inside the diff. It looks like I’m the outside of the needle bearing (slick area?) there is a metal lip that is chewed up/broken/bent. Maybe that has something to do with it or maybe it is just a part of the needle bearing?

some of the other threads about needle bearing issues have shown that lip to be chewed up and/or broken as well.
