I have a 2004 Tacoma, recently the ABS light came on an is flashing. I recently had rack & pinion work done and I am wondering if that had anything to do with it. The brakes work fine and the brake fluid is at the max level. Help ...

Thanks - the service center said after the rack and pinion work the truck required a wheel alignment also - maybe that had something to do with dislodging a connector or wire ???

I'll revive this thread instead of starting a new one. So yesterday morning on the way to work the ABS light started flashing but only when stopping and pressing the brake pedal. When I release the pedal the light goes off. This is the first time the ABS has ever flashed since I have owned it. The funny thing is I just put a ScanGauge 2 in the truck for the first time that very morning. I've read about some getting the flashing ABS after connecting a ScanGauge. And this is why that's the funny part. By "in the truck", I mean still sealed in the package on the passenger side floor, Ha! So obviously had nothing to do with it - just happened to be that morning. So, after work I had forgotten about it and wasn't even thinking about the ABS. I don't think it came on all the way home but maybe I was distracted or something or not as noticeable in the brighter light. I really doubt it but not 100% sure. I had the ABS module rebuilt maybe six months ago but no ABS light at all since then until yesterday. Also had the drivers side CV axle replaced about 12 days before this light coming on yesterday, again, with no ABS light after the CV axle replacement until yesterday.

Anyone have any idea what may have caused this ABS flashing? I will drive it again today and see if it does it again.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted to this thread. I just realized it's in the new member section.
