I just wanted a clean simple truck for personal use since my work provides me with a vehicle that I take home.

This truck got nicknamed the grandpa truck because it came completely stock with chrome hubcaps. It fit the stereotype of what an 80 year old retiree would drive to Hardee’s at 5am to meet his friends for breakfast.

First thing to change were the hazy headlights (Depo makes a great product from my experience). Next came a set of 2019 Mustang takeoff wheels & tires that fit pretty well. Then my radio volume knob worked horribly so I changed to a Sony double Din touchscreen.

    Nice looking truck.
This should be an interesting build.
I look forward to seeing how it goes.

Thank you, trying to keep it daily driver practical but fun when I want it to be. I’m interested to see how it goes too!

I had a neighbor growing up who had an old Toyota Pickup in that config with the little wheels/tires, long bed, regular cab, 4 banger. It got used more as a truck than any other truck I've ever seen, they're immensely practical with that big low bed and good fuel economy. Don't dis the grandpa truck!

I agree, I enjoy how practical the setup is. It’s nice to have a bed I can lift mowers into since it’s so low and still get mid 20s for fuel!
