Swapped the 22r with a 1997 5vz fe 3.4l, swapped the old body to a 1997, kept the dash cluster from the 1990.
Hello everyone! This is my first post, so thanks very much for all the advice ahead of time.

    So the story is:

I purchased a tacoma that had the engine swapped out for a 1997 5vz fe 3.4l and the body got swapped as well. All seems to be in functional order, except for the dash components. The dash is from the 1990. I don't have a functional pressure gauge or a temp gauge or speedo. Speedo is a simple fix, the cable needs replacing; the other two are my question.

I remember reading somewhere that the voltage difference between the 90 and the 97 causes the gauges to burn out straight away. If so, has anyone figured the correct gauges for them to be functional? Or would the 90 sending units fit in the 1997 to make it work for the 1990 dash cluster?

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Thanks for the links, but what are they all for?

I have done a 3.4 swap into a 93. You need the EWD for both the 90 and the 97. The 97 EWD should be on yotatech already as well as most of what resistors you need to get what guages working so check there first.

you need to figure out what body harness it has and what dash harness it has. You can use the EWD to do that by looking at plug configuration.
