I recently purchased my first truck, and of course, it was a taco. I found a 2020 SR double cab 4x4 for a great price (dark metallic gray, for those that are interested).

Of course, it does not have LED lights or fog lights. I compared my truck to a buddy's 2021 TRD Off road specifically looking at the fog light area and connections. I have a fuse for fog lights already installed in the engine compartment, and what appears to be the connector for fog lights down by the frame behind the grill area.

I have looked at SO many threads, but honestly, I'm a little lost. I have my eyes on these, but of course there are very few reviews:https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Tacom...08FQPVLQK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Here is my real question: what do I need? Obviously the lights and at least a wire to connect them to the existing connection, but what else? A separate switch, or will they work with my existing controls?

Any (simple termed explanation) assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I'd like to know what others have to say. I'd imagine you would either need a new/different switch on your steering column (the one that turns on the lights - that one) or you could use one of the ports that does not have a switch in there, or mount a switch where you wanted. I have never done this, but you have a few options. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in for you.

These guys can probably help you out with the lights you're looking for. Personally, I'd recommend Diode Dynamics or Baja Designs for fog lights. Both companies make excellent lights, but the Diode Dynamic SS3 seem to be a little more popular as of late due to price and cleaner light cutoff.

Here's a few threads to get you started on the parts needed...

I believe the fog light fuse is hot all the time so it’s not going to work for you. I bought an h11 wire harness with relay and fuse and did the wiring myself. I bought 2017 trd or fogs and bezels and added a circuit to the low beam fuse so the low beam and fogs turn on at the same time, but it’s easy to add a switch. I use lasfit h11 for low beam and lasfit h11 switchback for the fogs.ADE43F52-9533-4EF5-8DE1-AB8230429C8D.jpg91AE3D0E-7684-464D-A2A1-48EAD5900784.jpg

Much easier to wire them like you would wire a lightbar for example. All you'll need is fog lights (I would recommend the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro (thats what I'm running)), a wireharness for the fog lights (aftermarket might be the way to go), and a switch. Here is a link to the exact switch I could recommend purchasing if you go this route.

don't forget the bezels, heres the part numbers: (52127-04020 (right) and 52128-04020 (left))
