    To Chris4x4,
Try a 255 gr. Keith style SWC, with a healthy dose of 2400 in your Super Blackhawk. A friend of mine uses that bullet/load in his 10.5" SBH, and it is scary accurate at 50 yds.
I use the same bullet in my 3" M629, loaded in .44 Special brass using Unique powder (7.5 gr.). I get great accuracy with that load, and its very pleasant and cheap to shoot.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
    Buy a Lee Anniversary kit.
Some are offered with the manual.
All you will need is dies and components.
Try to find brass at your range or buy cheapest brass, boxer-primed ammo you can find and shoot that then reload.
Varget powder is almost the default powder for the 51 case.
Read and read and read before you load cases.
Youtube has some good videos for setting up your press and dies.
Wish it had been around when I started.
Don't let anybody tell you Lee equipment is junk...it's just not professional grade and I don't know anybody that needs professional grade reloading presses.
    Learn before you burn.

Find a good reloading manual, a good accurate scale, and a book with bullit weights, powder charge specs, and OA Case length. Start on the low side of the power spectrum and work up. If a round goes "Pfft"....or a quiet "pop". Stop and clear the weapon.

After using many, many powders for .308-type loads, I have settled on Hogdon's Varget power. I suggest you try it.

There is a Zen to handloading;). It is best to learn from someone who has done it before. Don't buy premium presses and equipment until you are comfortable with it. Like anything else worthwhile, it takes practice and lots of experimentation at the range. Each rifle likes its own loading. Rifle barrels respond to each shot with a sine wave. Each sine wave has nodes (no motion), so the idea is to get the node as close to the muzzle as possible. This takes much experimentation with different loadings. Keep good records, you will need it, as your time and expense can be wasted on lousy loads. Trust me:eek:!!

Must be nice to be spoiled like that lol. I got a 25 year old reloading set where everything has its own machine. first pop out the primer with one die. store. repeat 100 times. then neck down and trim on a new machine 100 times. go back to original machine and put in the primer. repeat 100 times. move to a new machine and put powder in x110 (i measure every 10th for consistency). move machines. put bullets in x100. i cant usually stand to do more than 100 a day. with that thing though i could crank out thousands!!!
