aFe throttle body spacer review

The only k&n I run is a washable cabin filter. Which probably needs to be cleaned.

 

I was just fucking around. I’m on your side, haha. Had K&N intakes in the past and was very happy with them, excellent product.

That’s your opinion. I personally do feel a difference. Not much by any means, but there is something a bit snappier in the acceleration and the throttle seems more responsive. But that’s what I feel, I have no physical evidence like dyno numbers or anything.

and if your theory of them, if they did anything you’d see them coming out of the factory... well how about putting that theory to a forced induction system or nitrous for that matter. These tricks of the trade definitely make significant number improvements... yet, I don’t see any Supra’s or Z06’s rolling off the assembly lines with 125 shots on them.

...but like I sad and you said, just our opinions. I have mine and you got yours.

 

You I believe. For future reference: any mixing of air/fuel under Wide Open Throttle is done by your ECU. If you make a physical change the computer simply adjusts the mix negating any change except at WOT.

From your post, you are simply a victim of marketing hype. Nothing else.

ill back you on the throttle body spacer if i had to buy it again with my own money and not stimulus money i would definetly buy it again with my money i noticed enough difference that i feel like you get your money's worth

Really. I have owned two 3rd gen Tacos. Put 80K on first one and 50K on 2nd one. Traded because I needed more towing for work.
I deal in fact, not some feel good marketing hype.
If you are getting any gains at all it is because of environmental factors (warmer weather, different driving habits) and not because of those aftermarket components.

As for the mixture... I am speaking of the actual blending process. Instead of the air flowing in a straight line through the throttle body, the spacer adds a rifling action... creating what they say to be a spiral like vortex. Hence the whistling sound they produce. I was not referring to the amount of air the engine is pulling read from the MAF sensor and the amount of fuel the ECU is dumping through the injectors to compensate for optimal ratio of air/fuel. I should have worded that better in previous post. That being said, if it does creat a centrifugal vortex in the system, that could cause a better mix/blend (not amount) or air and fuel as it enters the cylinder. Possible... lol!

You know Ive read and read and read through so many threads from mechanics saying they work and mechanics saying they dont and really if you want to know for your self you just gotta buy it and cross your fingers that it helps and it did for me plus was i didn't pay for it so it was a double win to me.

 

and hell yeah i pay taxes like a mofo i live in washington state bro we are one the highest taxed state in the good ole USA but i have a high paying job to compensate for tax abuse

If your chevy engine was equipped with throttle body fuel infection, and you installed a throttle body spacer, you'd see some improvement. We put a 93 305 throttle body injection v8 on the dyno with the spacer...torque improved off the bottom with a slight hp increase. Tried a spacer on my 4.7 tundra v8 engine. Absolutely no gains anywhere....the spacer did make the engines intake sound like it had a mini supercharger. Had to be with worth an extra 10 mental hp.
