This weekend I worked on my hot glue skills. Didn't finish, but will be able to get back to it in two weeks to complete. Still need to cover the diff bumpout, add gussets, drill an oil drain hole, make some spacers for the rear bolts since the crossmember is not flat, and finish weld everything. About $70 in 3/16" plate for this one piece, compared to $180 for the cheapest off the shelf option, and it was a fun project. Have enough plate to make skids for trans and t-case as well, those will come eventually

 

Brother’s GF is looking for a reliable commuter car. Budget is a soft $8k, maybe higher for the right vehicle. Sedan or small SUV, strong preference to have a backup camera, or I'd have to add an aftermarket one.

 

Man I've been slacking on the forums lately. Been busy outside now that the weather is trying to get nice.

Good job!!! I did transmission and trans case plates but Im missing one like yours. Maybe when weather get better I will make one

 

Thanks! It was a fun project, and a good challenge to make it all fit right. Eventually I'd like to get to the trans and tcase ones as well. My eyes were bigger than my stomach trunk with this one and I got 3ftx6ft of plate lol, so I'll certainly have enough material

lol yeah that happened when that ice chunk went underneath it and through the radiator. I have a plate that I I whipped up to cover that area too. Thankfully a denso condensor isn't much money, but I think also need to replace the evap core sometime soon too because its leaking dye into the drain ripppp

The one I ordered should be here Thursday. Maybe I’ll order a clay mitt and the luber too and just start from there. Though I would only be putting the paste wax and ceramic spray on....

 

Does anybody have experience with trimming the lower panel out for the Meso 7 switch panel. I picked up a lower panel and the Meso switch panel year and a half ago with the intentions of actually giving it a try. I’m a bit nervous I’ll mess it up as I can’t even cut a straight line with a razor blade LoL.. I definitely don’t have the steady hand I used to have.

 

Have you clayed before ? I use a medium clay bar from Chemical Guys .

 

Good evening fellas! I put my 4 banger Taco to the test this afternoon. I got another batch of firewood, stuffed the bed all the way to the roof of the camper cap. Tires were pumped up to 45 PSI and they still bulged, the rear leafs were just about on the bumps... you get the picture. That "little" 2.7 was impressive, I never felt like I was going to have to run with the E flashers on, the truck went down 83 and across Middletown Rd like it was an F250. No issues stopping or starting on a hill. The tranny never lagged in any gear, the truck just went down the road like a boss.

 

Nope not yet. I’ll need too at some point though. Was planning on really waiting till I have real graphene to put on there.
