Right ? I had some odd low speed vibrations at 20-30mph after 96kmiles and changed my u joints . Put a go pro on the driveshaft area. Shims on the axle measured angles (dialed in now)and checked the carrier bearing . Decided to do a transmission flush and bam . That was the issue. It was either low on fluid without leaks or the torque converter needed fresh go juice .

It felt exactly like a vibration but do to all the mods i was positive it was rotational vibration related . Well at least ive got new moog heavy duty u joints and didnt get sucked into the one piece driveshaft hole lol

After a couple days of delay due to parts delivery, finally got the truck back today. Seems to be much better so far. Did a few "normal" brakes and a couple "more aggressive" from about 60 and felt much smoother.

My dealer told me this isn’t a new tsb. It’s just and update to a 2018 tsb to include 2020 and 2021 trucks.

I'm using this TSB to take my new 2021 Tacoma SR5 to the dealership. I took it in about a week ago and they said there was no bulletin and they didn't know how to fix the issue. Said they were on with Toyota and ran it through some test and also drove some off the lot, and Toyota said it was a characteristic of the vehicle. I'm livid right now.

Well, took my 2021 Limited with 458 miles in to the dealer yesterday for the vibration issue. They finally got back to me and said "nothing wrong" and that vehicle "performs normally". I said BS and I want to drive another Tacoma to compare. So, today I went to dealership and took another Taco for a ride along with the Lead Service Tech. This truck was smooth as silk and I told the Service Tech that it was night and day compared to mine. Anyway, the Service Tech said that he wanted to take mine for a ride himself to feel and diagnose what I was experiencing. He came back to dealership and said that he felt everything that I described. He came back with the TSB and showed me the fix. Said it would be a few days to diagnose the problems, parts needed and final fix per the TSB. I said to keep the truck for a month if you have to, just make sure that it's fixed like new. Before I left the dealership, I went and spoke to the Sales Manager and told him that I would allow him to make the fix to try and correct the problem. However, if the truck wasn't repaired to my satisfaction, he can have the truck back!!!!!! He said, not to worry that "I've got your back". If he doesn't fix the truck correctly "I'll have his ass".
Stay tuned and I'll report back as soon as she's in my driveway again.

So I got my 21 3 weeks ago and I wasnt sure if I was feeling anything but I was pretty sure I was because my 16 didnt have any of these feelings. I was having the vibrations on stopping and I was having a weird faint oscillating vibration driving between 35-50. The truck is bone stock with 650 miles. I took it to the dealer this morning and I am happy they called and said they did replicate what I felt and are going to need to order parts and call some hotline during the weekday and I will have to leave it for a few days once I make that appointment when they get the parts. Bummed my 21 has this issue but my 16 was perfect.

You're right Jon, it is a bummer. You spend 45 grand on a vehicle and it has issues that has been known since 2016..... I can't believe Toyota has had their head up their butt this long without correcting the problem. Come on????? 5 years with a known problem and no fix!!!!!

yea. When I picked up my 21 I was thinking that this was sorted out after 5years. I guess not but at least they have acknowledged it and going to attempt to fix and I didn't get we could not replicate the issue.

My stock 2019 with 6900 miles has the same oscillating vibration although, it continues to 60 plus m.p.h. and at 55 to 60 and you can even hear it resonating thru the cab. Normal characteristic of the Tacoma...

Vmax, what you're describing is something totally different than what I and 16 Tacoma Sport are talking about. Our problem has a fix via Technical Service Bulletin TSB-0124-20. You can go on Google, type it in and download and read the whole 15 pages of "fix". Toyota knows about the problem and came up with a solution. I suggest you contact Toyota Customer Service and ask if there is a TSB that has been issued for YOUR problem. Just because another truck had vibration does not mean that it is a "normal" occurance and there could be a fix for your specific issue. Stop and think, when the hell have you ever bought another new vehicle that had a vibration that was normal. Total BS. Stand your ground and don't give in so easily.

Paul, I got the truck back yesterday and it appears they fixed the problem... They installed a new damper in the steering column, removed and replaced the left and right rear leaf springs, realigned the driveshaft to the tranny and rear diff and reprogrammed the transmission...everything as noted in the Tech Service Bulletin from Toyota. I do not feel any vibration at 30 MPH and below like I did before. Best of luck with yours....Joe

That sounds like what they are doing to mine.
They had it in yesterday and called that hotline. I have to take it back next week because waiting on parts but they are replacing both leafs and adding the steering damper

I can't figure out Toyota. They've known about this problem on the Tacoma since 2016 and still they issue the same TSB as a fix. Why the hell don't they adjust / calibrate / perform all the items in the TSB BEFORE the vehicle leaves the plant? I can still feel a very very slight vibration only because I knew it was there to begin with and now I'm looking for it. If this very slight vibration was there when I took the truck home, I probably would have never noticed it. Boy, I hope I didn't pull the trigger too soon in buying this truck. The new 2022 Nissan Frontier is awesome looking and the specs and appointments are impressive.

Ive got a 2021 V6 2WD that has the same vibration. Starts on deceleration at 26 mph and finally quits around 12 mph. I'm taking it over to the dealer today. Any luck with remedying the problem?
