I’m going to be buying a set of 255/85/16 and throw them on my factory steel SR wheels, strictly for trail use. I have a 300 mile trek to get to the trails. Obviously, I’d like the tire that will last the longest, and perform the best on the trail. Highway performance isn’t top priority as I’ll just take them off soon as I get back home (like stayed earlier, I still do have that 300 mile hike though). Which tired would you get and why?

I have Coopers in 255, been very happy with them. I’ll replace with the same when I need new ones.

If you're taking them off when not to or from the trail I'd get the most obscene mud terrain tires you can find and not worry about durability as they're not for daily driving.

I actually was thinking on TSLs. Just don’t know how they’d hold up on the trips going down there and back. That’s 600 miles highway just in one trip

Same here. Not in the running but can’t say enough good about the ST Maxx.

Anyone know if the stock steel SR wheels will run the uca with this size ? I’ve read multiple people doing this size but I don’t think they were using the steel wheel. I’ve also read some people having some rubbing
