Do it more for protection and prevent rocks getting kicked up and damaging the paint

Yeah I’ve seen the people who actually did paint, looks great but I like that I can take off the decal if looks shitty. The vendor quoted me $70 for the entire kit

I say if you like it then go for it. No sense in letting us decide how you mod your truck.

Definitely gives off a Ram Power Wagon vibe, but I don't think it looks terrible.

I mean at the end of the day do what makes you happy. I did something similar with the solid black but ended up changing in to this:

Not a bad look at all, im going for a subtle accent. Mind sharing why you ended up tossing the solid black?

Not into it, looks like when people cover crappy bodywork with plastic-dip or whatever that garbage is called.

I didn’t really like the look of it to be honest and i ended up just installing a clear bar to protect the paint instead

I am on the fence with doing something like this myself. Solid Black does not look bad, but as mentioned above it does sort of seem similar to the Power Wagon decals. I will probably use a clear film when it's all said and done, just a bit of something extra to protect the paint a bit more.

$70 does not seem bad OP, I say go for it!

Since you asked I guess I'll give my $.02. I prefer the look of the ram when it comes to accenting the bottom and how it covers the whole bottom from fender to fender. What this does is make the body look slimmer and sportier with it's body lines. On the 3rd gen's the body line has that 45 degree body line which prevents the black accent to go all the way to the fenders. What's left is that the body color around each fender comes to a point which takes away from the look. Again, just my thoughts but still not bad just my opinion as a painter. Enjoy.

Not sold but isn't terrible. Think I prefer it on the off road. The black wheel wells ties it together
