Finally received the front shocks for my Icon Stage 4 kit.

While inspecting everything I noticed the passenger side front reservoir hose has some damage (which must have occurred during manufacturing, no obvious shipping damage):

The internal metal layers of the hose seem to be intact. Is this safe to use?

while I'm sure it's safe to use, no way I would accept that on a brand new item.

the nature of the cut seems to imply that it was noticed, and the filleted chunk was ripped off. but that's just my speculation

This is actually my second set of front shocks. The first set was badly damaged in shipping. The second set arrived in good shape ... minus the borked hose. It seems like the hose was damaged during the manufacturing process, no signs of shipping damage anywhere.

I am starting to get a bit frustrated, but the forum vendor I purchased the kit through has been outstanding at trying to get things sorted out.

Yeah I'd be frustrated too for sure. Especially with lead times these days.

I would reach out to both the vendor and Icon separately. I'm sure the vendor would help you out again, not really sure whether the onus of making sure parts are undamaged is on the manufacturer or transferred to the vendor once they take the part. But in the event they don't, I have no doubt Icon would make it right.

Hopefully either one has the parts necessary on hand to do a quick swap so you don't have to wait even longer.

I sent the picture of the damaged reservoir hose to Icon, they responded that the hose is likely safe to use (the internal braided portion did not appear to be damaged). They also offered to fix it under warranty if I was concerned about it.

So they sent me a prepaid shipping label and it's on the way to Icon ... bummer that this happened, but very happy with Icon for taking care of it.

As someone who use to work in a hydraulics shop I would just go get a new hose it’s not gonna be very expensive

The entire repair process took about 2 weeks (including shipping both ways), but the front shock is back and looks perfect!

Icon covered everything under warranty (including all shipping costs).
