So a while back I remembered seeing something about people having issues with their key fob range being reduced after installing a rear dash cam. I did search and find a couple threads about it, but nothing other than “the camera causes an issue”.

Does anyone know anything further on it? Possibly an alternate route to run the cable? Or better yet, where is the item/wire/module located that the dash cam is interfering with (so I can avoid it).

I’m planning on adding a Garmin mini dash cam in the rear and would prefer to do it right the first time.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Sigh..... I've had this same issue since January and have not been able to resolve this. I've just been living with locking and unlocking my truck within 3ft. Did you ever get the dashcam? And if so did you or did you not experience the issue?

Lots of folks have had similar issues after installing Meso's 3rd brake light setup... has to do with the ground. not sure if that's what your issue is, but could be something to think about, depending on how you wired it. The transmitter for the fobs is somewhere back there near where your camera would be.
