Sorry guys, I know I'll get it for this:) I've done lots of searching and really can't find a great thread on the proper lift. I'm just coming from my First gen, then second gen, then first again and now to the 3rd. I went OME coils front, 5100's at 0 front, add a leave in the back and Nitro chargers. It was a good set up. Oh, had spacedrs for lean as well.

Can someone direct me to a good thread on here, for some research?

    Cheers and thanks!

The “right” lift is dependent on application. Budget also plays a role.

Are you looking for new suspension suggestions?

Proper lift is extremely subjective. I have a 2" RC spacer up front and 1.5" AAL in the rear and am happy with it. Will upgrade the front to 5100's with 2" lift and no spacer later down the road. This allowed me the lift I want for cheap with no alignment needed. Drives just as good as it did from the factory. I don't do any mud pits or rock crawling so don't see the point of spending thousands of dollars on suspension at this point.

Thanks Guys, I'm looking mostly to get some ground clearance, have a look at my avatar and you'll see the type of wheeling I do. It's through creeks, up hills, lots of rock, all to get to good fishing and camping holes. I want good aproach and clearance for climing washed out hills with exposed rocks.

I don't mind the ride the way it is, it's a little soft though. Maybe I can put spacers in, add a leaf until I wear out these shock obsorbers and coils? Then do the whole suspension.

    Cheers, I appreciate the advice.

Alright, after a little more research. I understand people all worried about mixing Bilstiens with OME coils, i'd like to hear more if its there. But here are my thoughts.

I want a good offroad ride, i don't necessarily want preloaded springs taking away from travel.

    • OME 887's (2.25" lift)
    • 5100's at 0 (could go nitros, but a lot more cash...thoughts?)
    • AAL with 5100's for the back or, as I've done in the past might do nitro chargers (much cheaper for rear) as I liked them in the rear better after I blew a set of Billie's (1rst Gen)
I still want a bit of a rake for when I've got a load, 1.5" AAL should still give it to me?

    Bring on the thoughts!

    CHeers and thanks!

Great budget lift IMO. I wouldn’t change a thing. Good luck and Welcome

Thanks 71 tatooguy. Is that what you're rockin' in your photo on that double cab? with 285/55-r16's? Might be too much for my 265's?...they're brand new, not sure if i'll do the jump to 285's anytime soon. This is the way it sits now with 265's. Feels like i'm im in a car:).

I’m running 265/75/16 on 16x8 methods. Great look on 2” IMO and I don’t plan on ever going 285’s
