Have a 1700 lb slide-in camper on our 18 TRD sport 4x4. Installed Timbrens and Hellwig helper springs but not enough. Need to get Firestone RideRites installed. We are currently camped in the Olympic Mountains and will be headed south to Oregon next week. Looking for a recommendation on a reputable and experienced installer. Anyone?

They put mine on, not in OR, and did a great job.

Firestones are a good option for a heavy camper with changing loads (trailer, etc.). If you offroad a lot and want to keep more rear wheel flex, lookup Daystar cradles. Get a good pressure guage, and also keep the air supplies for the two sides seperate so that they dont alternately compress and fill as you go around sharp corners and make you sway more. If your load doesnt change much and is more constant (camper weight and gear stay in it all the time), better to go with spring packs or AAL’s (I put in a single leaf Deaver in mine).

Heading to ONP after next week, and then touring around in WA and OR too, leave some clear but cooler weather for us!

Have had 6 days of totally clear azure skies with temps in 70-80 degree range. Constant breeze and low bugs. Beautiful place indeed. Enjoy your time here.

Great call, thanks again. Had the RideRites installed at 4wheelparts in Portland. Very pleased with their customer service and will speak it to all. Worked with Rick to get everything lined up including some stock Toyota parts for the install. Taco is now sitting level again.

True, however we are 2,000 miles from home on a four month adventure and needed someone to install them.

The 1-1/8” frame bolt messed up my install, my socket set doesn’t go that big!

Hey, how did the rest if your trip go? Beautiful weather in Forks and the WA coast, in the 80’s and the vampires were nowhere in sight, then we went inland by Mt Baker to eastern Oregon to Steens Mtn. Wow!! The smoke from the Ashland fires was bad everywhere east, but it was nice anyways. I posted a short summary about it here:https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...kcountry-eastern-oregon.560915/#post-18348204

I was rather overloaded as well, carrying a double folding sea kayak, a ton of brand new fancy carpet squares my mother in law gave us in Portland, an RTT and mtn bikes. So I scraped a bit on a rocky trail we took off Steens Mtn, but we had a blast. So now I am doing some rear suspension upgrades and the tailpipe chop this weekend, too.

We had beautiful weather in Forks and a new camping experience. On a Friday morning, we were in our campsite preparing for a hike when we saw two LE vehicles from different departments drive past going the wrong direction on the one way loop. Next we heard someone on a bullhorn five sites away from us,”We have a warrant for your arrest. Exit the Southwest motorhome. Open the door slowly and exit with your hands up”. Blink, blink, what? SWAT team with ARs trained on the motorhome. We then spent several hours crouched behind our vehicle.

More beautiful weather for two weeks in the Mt. Baker Wilderness. The peak got fresh snow overnight three times while we were there. Incredibly beautiful as was Baker Lake.

Between the heavy traffic along the coast, (due to our late departure) no camping availability and 100 degree temps, we decided to head East at Portland to the Oregon National Forests. Smoke from wildfires kept us moving into Idaho. Most excellent adventure so far!

Ah, Forks! Everyone was so nice when we went through there this trip. But in the 80’s when I was a backcountry ranger on the Olympic NP, we were not allowed to go into town in uniform or with NP vehicles because the northern spotted owl was listed as endangered and many mills and people in Forks were affected by it.

Little of this, little of that.
Hey, sorry to revive a dead thread! How much did it cost to have them install that for you? Also how are you liking them after a few years? (if you still have your truck)
