This made me cringe. I'm so very uncomfortable right now.
I think this is the way to go. Or just ask for cash. I don't know about you, but my wife and I have different interests than a lot of our family, who at the time, were the ones that could afford to get us gifts (friends were poor college/young newlyweds as well that couldn't afford much more than a $25 gift card/cash themselves), so putting stuff like this on our registry just wouldn't have gotten us very far and would've resulted in what @daddy_o goes on to mention:
Yeah, I'm an asshole. Wife kept pestering me for months to start writing Thank You notes, and ultimately we just never did. I guess we could send them out still, 7 years later.

Im of the opinion that wedding gifts and baby showers are traditionally for those kids that need a little help establishing their house, or at least stocking their house like what an adult would have. (i.e. no longer drinking out of the mismatched burger king cups. Unless you want to.)

If you are fortunate enough to already be in that position, I would consider putting "please don't feel obligated to bring a gift" on your invite. For those that insist, tell them in person that honeymoon funds are certainly welcome. Thats the classie way of doin' thangs. :D

Well, this gained a lot of unexpected attention.

We had an outdoor COVID wedding with a total of 8 guests. Since we didn’t end up having the wedding we planned, we purchased almost everything we needed ourselves. We are hoping to have a big celebration with our friends and family when it’s safe to. My in laws missed the wedding because my father in law was diagnosed with covid the day before the wedding. He is healthy now which is all that matters.

Our honeymoon trip wasn’t affected by the virus because we were totally off grid.

    Here are a few photos!

    Thank you!
It truly was! We were all over Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. We stopped into Joshua Tree but couldn’t wait to get out of CA.
I highly recommend Vermilion Cliffs. We spent three nights there during this trip, and it was our second visit there. Capitol Reef is our favorite National Park and there is plenty of BLM land around to have a quiet spot with no one remotely near you.
