Don't know too much about it other than it's a diesel and originally from Canada, and that the owner pretty much uses it as his work daily driver

also i find it funny they had you drive all the way to colorado when you could have flown seen what it is to see then flown back easier and maybe cheaper?

Could have flown but chose to drive instead. I like being able to make my own schedule, and I was able to bring some equipment with me. Coworker and I were originally planning a three day trip, but we were able to take care of what we needed to do in less time than anticipated and chose to go home early. Didn't have to deal with rebooking flights this way

If I can get wherever I'm going within about fourteen hours and I have a choice, I'd rather drive

Completely fair. I won't try to convince anyone that what I do makes sense.

They did provide me a work vehicle, and I usually drive all over the place for work anyhow, so I'm my mind why should this have been any different?

I like to drive, but my body hates it. Driving long distances makes me sleepy.

Its a lot easier when they provide a work vehicle. Policy at a previous company was if it was over a certain milages we had to rent, because it was cheaper that way (rather than paying us for miles)

Then there was another company - instead of flying us from west TX to Baton Rouge, my boss made us rent and car and drive, because it was too expensive. So instead of a few hundred bucks each, we burned 2 full days of time for 3 engineers on driving

Luckily I don't mind flying at all, at least for work.

I don't mind being in the air, but I hate everything else about flying on commercial aviation

    Sounds like corporate decision-making...

And yes, having a provided vehicle certainly makes things easier. Just passed 2.5 years and 84k miles on the current truck

That’s what I always did. I always had to make a connection so it was usually equal on time anyway. And like you said, you can come and go as you please.

Yeah. Like all the dimwits that clog up the security lines and aisle when getting on / off
