    "risky" childhood memories:

my first car - 1969 Olds Delta 88 - had no seatbelts b/c my grandfather cut them out...they annoyed him

we used to play a game called "Gauntlet":

back when we had real winters in Ohio, our driveway would freeze up, and we would all line up along one of the tracks that froze into a long line of ice...forming a "Gauntlet"...about 7 on each side. Then one person would start at a run and hit the ice sliding. Everybody else would then tackle/bodycheck/pulverize the person sliding down the ice....the winner was whoever could survive the Gauntlet standing up on the other side. No one ever won...and I am surprised no one ever ended up in the hospital...though some of us should have

we also used to jump off of our second story back porch into leaf piles or snow piles...

My first car was a 69 Buick LeSabre. It was handed down to me. A lot of memories connected to that car...road trips where my sister got to sleep stretched out on the seat while I got the floor with the hump... I was always impressed that my dads arm was long enough to smack me even while retreating to the far back corner of the back seat.

We also piled leaves up and jumped off the roof. Discovered that umbrellas, garbage bags, and bed sheet parachutes did not slow down the descent or lessen the impact. I guess we were just engaged in a real life learning/application of physics.

@vssman I’ve been meaning to ask about your signature line. I think my Google translate has let me down on the Latin. It tells me “to put aside, and grass.” Is that correct?

I bought mine for $75 from my grandparents...it had a Rocket 455 engine...just unbelievably powerful...scary and the double bench seats...I could fit 7 in that car for our carpool at school. We had a mid 70's Olds "grocery getter" station wagon for the fam....dad could not always reach us, but a quick slam of the brakes always cut most shenanigans short...

oh yeah...the world was our laboratory!! All you needed was a BMX bike, bb guns, Jarts and friends and a free day to learn about physics, chemistry, anatomy, medicine, biology...

I guess I'm still the redneck here, my first car was a 1967 Ford Bronco pickup!! 4x4, 289 with a three speed on the column ... Bad ass in the woods, where it spent every weekend for the rest of it's life!! We jumped from the roof in the pool!!

My first car was a '67 Mustang. I primered it in auto shop class but never painted it.

I was doing a lot of T-hunting at the time( CB hide and seek - like lojack) which consisted of a lot of off road hiding so I sold it for a 1980 Nissan King cab 4x4.

It was also primered the whole time I owned it.

Good morning all. Registration for “the shot” opens for me tonight at midnight.

My first car was a ‘67 Cougar. I got it when I was 14. What a basket case; the car that is... cost was $50.00. Lots of bodywork and ended up painting it. Talk about orange peel on the roof!

@Cwopinger - “Get off my lawn” :D That’s one of those inside jokes with Andy.
