Bought my Tacoma 2015 off road with standard 3 inch RC lift and some pro comp rims I believe are 33’s. I brought it to Toyota for a “used Car” inspection and I told them that I here some sort of vibration/humming and the humming is almost every wheel rotation. You also can feel it through the petal especially when it’s cold out or when I I’m driving back roads with no music on no ac just listening and now I can’t not feel and hear it. I have full coverage on this truck brought it back to the place I bought it and they said nothing is wrong with it so now the 3,000 front differential is not getting fixed till they hear it but the dealer is 90 min away and so by the time I got there it wasn’t doing it. NEED HELP. Oh and it doesn’t do it in 4x4 do you think it’s suspension related or front differential

It’s your needle bearing. You need to have it replaced with the replacement bushing made by ECGS. Most 4x4 shops that are very familiar with Toyota’s will know how to handle. Call some and ask if they’re familiar and if they have the special tools from ECGS to do the job.

It requires removing your CV from your diff, replacing the needle bearing with the bushing. Dealership won’t do anything but put in another needle bearing, which will also go bad with the lift.

I didn't know they made one for the 2nd gen. I can't find it on the website.

That’s not true. There’s several reports of dealers installing the aftermarket bushings. They just won’t do that on a truck still under Toyota warranty for obvious reasons.

Research the ECGS bushing. The fact you have a very large suspension lift (for a 4x4) with the humming going away in 4x4 is a dead giveaway. The place that gave you full warranty for a truck with this kind of lift is responsible but clearly they don’t want to. Tell them if they don’t want to play ball you will either get this fixed elsewhere and send them the bill or wait till the axle and diff get damaged and bring it back (hopefully still within warranty) and let them eat THAT cost

If it is the needle bearing why does op state it goes away after driving a distance. Is that standard for this issue. I know putting it in 4 wheel drive is a big symptom. Tia
