I'm looking for suggestions for dual dahs cams, one facing the front and one facing backwards. It seems like a lot of cams are designed for cars or other vehicles with a slanted rear window and not for windows that are straight vertical. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Also, is the factory rear window tinted glass tinted in the glass itself or does it have a film over it? I've been trying to decide how to mount something back there, but I don't want to stick some sticky tape to the window if it'll pull up and damage the tint.

    I've got the BlackVue DRS590W-2CH installed;
    https://blackvue.com/?post_type=wc_product_tab&p=125735

It's one of the lowest 2ch, plus wifi, plus parking mode from BlackVue.
Tucks right behind the rearview mirror, rear camera sits at the top or the rear window.

It's been great, no issues, I've got it set up with a PowerMagicPro to power park mode.

I use Thinkware U1000. Video quality is 4K front and 2K rear.
Image quality is amazing you can get license plate details.
When you look at video quality, check the image sensor as some dash cams use cheap ones.
Thinkware uses top-tier Sony Starvis image sensors both front and rear on U1000.

Which fuses did you set up the Power Magic Pro to? I just got it in the mail today(Blackvue DR900X-2CH) and was wondering how to set it up. Will try to set it up tomorrow. Did you use fuse taps?

I’m using the garmin mini dash cam on both the front and back. The app lets you sync up the video. I think they were like $80 each when on sale at Best Buy.

I use this one BLACKVUE BV-DR900S-2CH.
I have 5% in the rear over the factory and it looks super clear.
I also have 40% on the front windshield and it is also super clear no issues at all.
I use the Blackvue BV-PMEZ Power Magic EZ to power it up using the OBD2 port.

I’ve had the BlackVue 900s 2 channel and the Thinkware F800 2 channel. Got a new TRD OR a month ago and I think I’m going back to Thinkware. They both have great image quality. But I think the Thinkware’s power management in parking mode is much better. And the the night vision in parking mode is also better. I don’t drive far during the week. So the trucks battery doesn’t have enough time to recharge And the BlackVue would turn off in the middle of the night. An external battery is an option. But at almost 400 bucks a pop. Is just not worth it. The Thinkware used to stay on all night. Both times I owned each. They ware installed in brand new trucks. With new optima batteries. So the battery shouldn’t be an issue. But after a few months it was an issue for the BlackVue.

Thank you. I used both fuses and it's working now. Time will tell if my battery ever discharges

Very true, I was thinking of getting a blackburn battery pack but the cost alone scared me away.

Did you use the power magic pro, and if so which voltage cutoff/timer setting did you have?

I'm also deciding between blackvue or thinkware, anyone knows which is better for extreme hot weather?

Not sure about thinkware, but the blackvue has some crazy specs regarding extremely temperature usage. I'm sure you can find the same for thinkware.

I found this on the FAQ section of the blackvue site:

What is the BlackVue operating temperature range?
The BlackVue published temperature range is either -4° to 140° F (-20° to 60° C) or -4° to 158° F (-20° to 70° C), depending on the model. Check your user manual for your particular model's operating temperature. Those are operating temperatures, so most likely the camera will be fine even above and below that range when turned off (such as overnight or parked during the day).

Ive got the DR590-2ch, My PMP is right at 12v. I watched usage over a few months and found it would shut cameras off at 2am with the 12.5v setting. Summer is no problem and it is almost always still going when I come out in the morning. Winter I switch off parking mode as it gets cold and having the truck start is more important to me, windows are usually covered in snow anyways..

I would consider the battery pack as well if it didn't double the cost!

Thanks for the reply. I think i have mine set at 12.5 but will experiment to see how much recording time that gives me. I was also considering the battery pack but the cost scared me!

I did use the PMP. Initially had it set at 12 and when I noticed it was turning off over night. I changed it to 11.5.. that didn’t last long.

Excellent quality, easy install. One recording unit for both cameras. I have used them on my motorcycles for years.
