A beauty. Almost got one of those instead of the Taco when I was looking. Decided the daily had to be an auto, coming from another Volkswagen with the DCT I thought the next "car" I would own will be a 6 speed. DCT was quick but not as exciting. Awesome vehicle either way.

This one is DSG. Since its going to be my daily and my Miata is manual I was happy with "auto" plus its already full stage 2 and the PO said it has gone high 11s in the 1/4 :D

Ya know, that's where the real fun comes from. If you will be using it to go fast the DSG makes sense. Imagine if third gens shifted half as fast. Any plans for wheels on it? Older golfs and BBS wheels are like bread and butter.

Older Golfs? Its literally the current generation, save for the MK7.5 facelift that happened. To answer your question though, yes, I have lots of plans ha.

Recently I've only seen bbs on older golfs. Did they ever dyno that thing? Stage 2 should be 370-380 neighborhood right? My butt dyno always gets thrown off in AWD cars so even the stock power ones I rode in felt way faster than I'm sure they were.

I don't think he was questioning the current model pictured. It was more of what gives him the fizz.

I see what youre saying now. Only certain wheels look good on the newer cars. CH-R's for example are my favorite BBS wheel on MK5 and newer Golfs. Thats probably what Id go with since its one of my all time favorite wheels. I really like the stock Pretorias though.

Yeah 370-380 on 91 octane 400lb/ft though which is the fun part. It also has a DSG tune so it feels really fast, especially stoplight to stoplight. Im waiting on more details from the PO but it was an older guy and has an immaculate service history including DSG service done on time at 40k miles. Not sure if they ever dynod it.

    Makes sense now ha.

Sounds like a gem. Personally I'd never buy a car of that type from anyone whos not an old guy or who doesn't have ridiculous amounts of paperwork. Basically anyone who would properly enjoy the car like I would. Thing I love about those compared to say a Focus RS is the interior build quality. Sat in a friends RS and felt like I was in a kids power wheels toy. The Toyota makes me miss my GLI interior and Fender Audio package...

    08843486-137A-4BB4-8F81-5B835E468346.jpg

Some guy in a ram 1500 decided the B pillar of the GLI and the front bumper of his truck wanted to meet while I was waiting at a red light.

Damn, thats gnarly. Hopefully you were/are still ok. Its funny, if you go on sites like The Car Lounge people are always having dash-stroking conversations and try to say the interiors of the RS and STI are just as nice as the R. It's so obvious they've never actually sat in one hahaha. The high end VW models(R's, GTI/GLI, Autobahn, SEL, R-Line) interiors are on par with Audi/BMW/Benz not Ford and Subaru.

    This is my actual car.

I miss that. It's alright the jap truck should last me until I can afford to have multiple vehicles and irresponsible spend money on mods. Should note that the ride on the Golf R is 1000 times better than Focus RS for 90% of drivers who don't track all the time or hit Canyons every day.

Off the subject of cars, my father-in-law passed away last July. He was in HVAC and has a shit load of tools that I will never use. Is there any of you that would want to go check some tools out and see if you would want to buy any of his tools? Mom doesn't need them at all and could use the extra money.

I need to do this soon. Having the 4R as a daily makes getting shit done on it more and more difficult.
