    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me with my issue. My 2005 Tacoma v6 automatic was having issues shifting. I had a p2714 code. I tested the pressure control solenoid D which passed my tests. However I replaced it anyway, in return the code went away. While I was in there I pulled all the solenoids and tested them which all passed. However now My trucks transmission doesn’t engage at all I have no codes either. I replaced the internal wiring and the connector pigtail hoping that would solve it. However nothing I have done has worked. I really don’t want to take it to a shop considering it seems like it’s going to be an easy fix.
    Thank you

You say the code went away after you replaced the solenoid.
And that you also replaced the wiring and connector. Was all this work done at the same time?
And has the truck ever ran since?

When you say “engage”. You mean you have no forward or reverse gears?
Do the gear indicators lights on the dash change?

There been a few cases where guys pinched the harness when doing a transmission service.
But that typically comes with a code or multiple codes.

I replaced the solenoid first. After that it wouldn’t engage. I have no p r n d l anything. When before everything worked except when I would accelerate it wouldn’t down shift. The gear indicator matches the gear shifter. I contacted a Toyota service department and hey recommended changing the male and female plug on the transmission, which I did and still no change.

Check the IG1 10 ampere fuse. This provides power for the shift control circuit back to the ECM.

Being a little curt to Curtiss.

If you have a fuse you know is good, just try swapping it in if you haven't already @Curtiss09 , sometimes a fuse will have no visible damage but still have failed. This has tricked me before. If it is a fuse, there's probably also a problem with the wiring grounding out or the connections going bad that caused the fuse to go in the first place, so I wouldn't wholly trust a new fuse to be a complete repair.

Wasn't my intention, and he may well have tested it, but in case he didn't, a reminder. Too many pull a fuse out, don't see an obvious burn and call it good without putting a meter on it.

I swapped the fuse out. Didn’t change anything.

See the drawings below and verify the voltage at the yellow wire pin # 2 on the park neutral safety switch connector on the transmission. And if you do have 12 volts there you can then verify you are getting power to the wires at the ECM Connector for each position when selected.
