Did my transfer case just explode? Please help!

    Missed neutral is my guess. To tow flat the Wrangler is one of the few vehicles out there that you can do that which makes them popular with RVers. You have to put the transfer case in neutral. Neutral is right before 4L on the selector. Most likely they used 4L to move forward and forgot to bump it to neutral before taking off. I have had issues with my parents not getting into neutral and being stuck in park. Normally you notice right way because you drag the vehicle. They must have snapped the park pawl because in park, the tires wouldn't turn unless the transfer case was in neutral. With that gone and the tires spinning it was a time bomb.

    There was no park pawl. It was a manual in gear like it should've been. Clearly they missed or forgot the transfer case shift. Baffles me there was no recognition of the extra drag on the RV. Glad they did it though, the damage and story is worth it.

    That explains why we saw several RVs with Jeeps in tow. Some of the RVs are so big that they might not actually notice the weight of a jeep. One that we saw was the size of a Greyhound bus and had a red Wrangler in two. It was big enough that they should have put davits on it and hoisted the Jeep like a lifeboat?

    I've read about numerous instances of Nitro gears breaking recently. Nitro agreed to pay for the repairs as long as the OP didn't trash their product on the World Wide Web of the Intronets. Therefore, the OP is not allowed to comment further.

    Or, the OP sucks and just left us hanging.
