    Hey TW,

I have an 08 2wd with the mechanical LSD in the rear. I’m about to get my re gear done but have heard people saying to do the trutrac while they’re in there.

I read that the mechanical LSD doesn’t last very long and mine could have already worn itself out.

Will the trutrac benefit me as much as my mechanical LSD will in sticky off-road situations?

I put one in when I did my 4.30s.
I have no clue if it has done me any good but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy saying I have it.
From time to time I forget I have it and when I make turns in the rain I think my drivetrain is breaking.
    I hope that helps

Had them in all my Jeeps. Clutchless, nothing to wear. 65k miles on last one, zero issues.

The trutrac is vastly superior to the clutch based LSDs. It is progressive in the torque biasing which is far more advanced and functional than clutch LSDs, it doesn't wear like friction clutches, it doesn't need special fluid modifiers and it replaces the spider gears to make the diff stronger. The Trutrac is better in every single measurable way. If it is worth it is up to you.

i put a trutrac in mine and it was worth it in my opinion. i have a base reg cab 4x4 and it had an open diff in it from the factory. it's much better off road or in snow now.
