Morning folks.
Planning on replacing my landscape lighting today. Want to get them in so we can do our spring cleanup, cut back everything, fertilize and re-mulch this week.

 

Thats interesting. Wonder why mine needed an ok from up top when yours didnt.

Fluidfilm and Woolwax are both derived from sheeps wool, but woolwax is formulated to be thicker (and is supposed to smell less). I wonder if the viscosity/thickness made it more of a concern, or if dealers operate differently. Assuming more on the latter, but I would also think that a frame recall/warranty would generally have to be treated the same. Who knows..

I invested in the spray gun and extension wands, so the woolwax application will be a twice a year thing for me. Its nice because my napa down the road carries it in bulk (gallons, 5 gal pails, 55 gal drums).

 

Finally warm enough to exist outside Started the day off by popping my bumper dimple from the last sucker pond run, im hyped

Hey everyone. I haven't been on here in a while. I'm sure I've missed a lot and I'm sure there's plenty of the same.

 

So, I ordered my new front suspension and Ive been researching what other parts are worth changing out while the suspension is apart since the truck is almost 140k miles. I always see ball joints, So i will be changing those. But what else can anyone recommend to change while in there. Any bushings that should be swapped or changed to poly. Any stuff like that.

@tattooedsnake, I assume you’ll be also changing the lower ball joints? If yes, seriously look at new lower arms and OEM adjusting hardware. They tend to rust solid in the bushings and you have to cut them out. Lube the inside of the bushing sleeves when you replace them to prevent rust. I actually have a set of white line bushings in a box in my basement along with new hardware. I just need a few “round to its” and motivation to do mine. Honestly for me, replacement arms might be good enough.

 

I have new control arms and related hardware to install. Just need time and a lift to do them. Then maybe I can have this thing aligned properly.

Thanks. That all makes sense. I grabbed a set of 6112 sets assembled and I am getting them set on the first clip, so Im not getting much of a lift from them. Just the .5" difference in overall size of the shocks themselves. I know that repairs like the ball joints end of being expensive because of the labor time separating the suspension. Thats why I figured do everything that I can all at once. I will probably have my local shop near me do the work. Im in a condo so I cant work on the truck outside. And it would not be easy for me to take the time off this month to get it done.
