    Hello everyone,
New to TacomaWorld and looking for some guidance. Purchased a new 2021 TRD Sport with the 3.5V6 thinking this truck could pull my 2,500lb trailer load just fine. Well, it struggles. I want to cruise down the hwy at 70 mph with the trailer in tow and not have the truck constantly hunting for the right gear. Hills it downshifts into 3rd and reves 5500 rpms. I've read about the OVTune and it seams like that could be the fix. Anyone know of a tuner that could do this for me near Grand Rapids Michigan? Thanks!!!

I just bought a manual, but that’s what I don’t like about new automatics in anything. They hunt for gears. My Silverado with a six speed had the power to do it, but it always downshifted a couple gears. My 3.5 is a little sluggish, and I’m slated to get an OVTune this week. All I want is the power band cleaned up.

That said, the Silverado had 1300ish pounds of work equipment in it (grossed 7200#). So far my Tacoma is 5500#, still with no topper. Thus far it cruises fine.

I am also in Michigan, and want to have the tune done, did you end up finding someone to do the tune for you?
