the papers are protected from the tube steel by the core, the only issue would be the edges of the rolls touching the plate, but I think I can cut a piece of mdf to slide on top come to think of it. Might be more forgiving on the paper anyway.

Thanks for the advice, it did seem to run hot, just going to have to play around with it. I have a Vulcan 215 at work that I really like so I figured I’d give the Titanium series a shot.

It’s a million times better, it actually worked, all joking aside, they both would have accomplished the same job, but the Titanium has more fine tuning abilities, I’m sure I will like it a lot, especially when I hook it to gas, I haven’t welded with flux in a long time.

I always like to show the end goal of something I make in this thread when I can. We had a truck meet today and over 90 trucks showed up and the ramp was a big hit. Really drew in the crowd.

This. I unplug all my welders and anything else I don’t want to get burned up in the shop. I work for an electrical utility and I’ve seen some crazy shit where surges for all kinds of reasons will destroy almost everything plugged into a wall within a couple block radius.

    Don't crucify me...okay maybe a little.

Who has made their own bedracks before? Got a 110 and I'm getting better.

Been making some bike racks for the town.

Really like the look of the tube ones but I don't own a bender.....yet.

    Let's see em!

You can definitely make one with a 110 welder since there’s really no reason to have anything thicker than 1/8” on a bed rack. You should go for it! If it turns out shitty, then do it again or tweak it until you’re happy with it. That’s the beauty of steel. I made my own bed bars.

    Check Build thread
Overland camping trailer build. Waiting on some parts before I can continue. Not the greatest but it’s always fun building something new. Frame will be painted black which will make the aluminum “skins” pop a little better. Fenders, lights, step, latches, etc will all be added after my wheel adapters come. Few more tubes for the removable tent rack.

I’ve also got some cool little parts to finish it out really clean, such as the plastic tube caps that pop into open tubes, etc 1999ECB0-11A3-4083-9D32-EA208C50D24A.jpg340E17BD-DB77-48FE-BD84-6286CFECA985.jpg4A430413-7C58-4A93-8D2E-91C54A0773C0.jpgB560834A-7B28-458E-BDB9-352BD28DE55A.jpgCC7B39BF-EF21-4FD9-9752-07FBDD1CB8D2.jpg029CE10A-909D-4415-8772-6B496C14D541.jpgA15252C7-9C44-4982-9154-31825653E24E.jpg585F83D7-A45E-420B-BA58-F7399C605DFF.jpg75EB9443-922B-43AE-9215-932E48EE6A89.jpg

@snowboard704 Nice looking trailer. I hope that you're going to weld some vertical gusets between the angled rails from the hitch to the front corner pillars.

What you have created is a stiff hinge that will flex with every bump the you take it over. Failure may take quite awhile but it will happen. I can visualize all sorts of horrific scenarios...

    You might consider a beefier material 45 deg 3/16 or 1/4 X 6 X6.

That tongue is the weak link. Need to extend it back to a second cross member.

Otherwise, gonna be a great trailer.

That's what I'm talking about! I love that, like can't give you enough compliments on that. That's pretty much the exact style I'm thinking down to the panels.

Had some good shop time today. Converted back to a metal shop from a week of wood working. Which basically means I rolled tools out of the way that were no longer needed and rolled in the welder and evo saw.
Adding a swingout tire carrier to a HC bumper. Bunch of random closeups before I finish everything up.

you doing a build thread for the trailer? what size are you making the trailer itself? Where did you get your axle from and whats the hub size on it that makes you have to use a spacer for wheels?
I have mine drawn up just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can start my build. Looks sick!
